Post Acceptance

Once a manuscript is formally accepted for publication, it enters the post-acceptance production stage. This stage ensures that the article meets technical, formatting, licensing, and publication standards prior to final release.

The corresponding author will receive official confirmation of acceptance through the journal’s editorial system.

1 Copyright and Licensing Confirmation

Following acceptance, authors will be required to confirm agreement with the journal’s licensing terms as outlined in the Open Access, Copyright & Archiving policy. STBR operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication.

Authors must ensure that:

  • All co-authors approve the final version;
  • All third-party permissions have been secured;
  • Funding disclosures are accurate and complete.

Publication cannot proceed until licensing confirmation is finalized.

2 Copyediting and Technical Editing

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting to ensure:

  • Clarity and consistency of language;
  • Adherence to referencing style;
  • Formatting consistency;
  • Compliance with publication standards.

Editorial copyediting focuses on technical and stylistic corrections. Substantive changes to the intellectual content are not made at this stage without author consultation. Authors may be contacted for clarification if necessary.

3 Proof Review

Following typesetting, page proofs are generated and sent to the corresponding author for review. Authors are responsible for carefully reviewing proofs to identify:

  • Typographical errors;
  • Formatting inconsistencies;
  • Minor factual inaccuracies;
  • Author name or affiliation corrections.

Proof review is not an opportunity for substantial rewriting or introduction of new content. Authors must return corrected proofs within the specified timeframe to avoid publication delay.

4 DOI Assignment and Online Publication

Each accepted article is assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) prior to publication. The DOI ensures:

  • Persistent linking;
  • Long-term discoverability;
  • Accurate citation tracking;
  • Integration with indexing databases.

STBR publishes articles online immediately upon completion of production processes. Articles may be published in an "Online First" format prior to assignment to a specific issue. Once published online, the article becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and is fully citable.

5 Indexing and Metadata Dissemination

Following publication, article metadata are registered and disseminated through indexing and abstracting services where applicable. Accurate author metadata entered during submission are used for indexing purposes. Authors are therefore responsible for ensuring correctness at the time of submission.

6 Archiving and Digital Preservation

Published articles are preserved through the journal’s digital archiving systems, including participation in recognized preservation networks. These measures ensure long-term accessibility and protection against data loss.

7 Corrections and Post-Publication Updates

If errors are identified after publication, appropriate corrective action may be taken in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics & Editorial Policies. Depending on the nature of the issue, corrective measures may include:

  • Publication of a correction notice (Erratum or Corrigendum);
  • Expression of concern;
  • Retraction in cases of serious ethical breach.

The integrity of the scholarly record remains a priority at all times.
