Prepare Your Submission

1. Scope and Fit

Sustainable Trends and Business Research (STBR) is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal situated within the field of Business, Management and Accounting, with a strategic focus on sustainable practices, innovation, governance, and emerging global business trends. The journal publishes rigorous scholarly research that integrates sustainability perspectives into accounting, finance, strategic management, corporate governance, organizational systems, entrepreneurship, public policy, and related business disciplines.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should carefully evaluate whether their work aligns with the journal’s academic scope and intellectual direction. Submissions must demonstrate a clear contribution to international scholarship in business and management while meaningfully engaging with sustainability, innovation, ESG, digital transformation, responsible governance, sustainable finance, circular economy, or evolving global business dynamics.

Manuscripts that fall outside the journal’s disciplinary focus or fail to demonstrate theoretical, empirical, methodological, or policy contribution may be declined during initial editorial screening without external peer review. Authors are therefore strongly encouraged to review the journal’s Aims & Scope statement prior to submission.

2. Originality and Ethical Compliance

Submission of a manuscript to STBR confirms that the work is original, has not been previously published in substantially similar form, and is not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.

Authors must ensure that:

  • All sources are properly cited and referenced;
  • Necessary permissions for third-party material have been obtained;
  • Ethical approval has been secured where required;
  • Conflicts of interest and funding sources are transparently disclosed;
  • Data protection and confidentiality requirements have been respected.

All submissions are subject to similarity screening prior to peer review. Detailed standards regarding research integrity, misconduct, corrections, and retractions are outlined in Publication Ethics & Editorial Policies and Author Responsibilities & Legal Policies.

3. Authorship and Responsibility

Authorship carries both academic credit and accountability. All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

Submission confirms that:

  • All listed authors approve the submitted version of the manuscript;
  • No qualified contributor has been omitted;
  • No individual who did not contribute is listed as an author;
  • All authors agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work.

The corresponding author is responsible for managing communication during the submission, review, and publication process and for ensuring the accuracy of author information. Changes in authorship after submission require written agreement from all co-authors and approval by the Editor.

4. Language and Professional Editing

All manuscripts must be written in clear, professional academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to seek professional language editing prior to submission to ensure clarity and readability. Authors may choose to use independent academic editing services before submission. ResearchApt provides optional manuscript support services, including language editing and formatting assistance. Use of such services is entirely voluntary and does not influence editorial decisions. Engagement with professional editing support does not guarantee acceptance for review or publication.

5. Anonymity and Double-Anonymized Review

STBR operates a double-anonymized peer review system. Authors must ensure that manuscripts submitted for review do not contain identifying information. The main manuscript file must exclude author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and any language that may reveal author identity. When referring to prior work by the authors, neutral phrasing should be used to preserve anonymity. File metadata should also be reviewed and cleared where necessary. Manuscripts that do not comply with anonymization requirements may be returned to authors prior to peer review.

6. Pre-Submission Checklist

Before submitting, authors should confirm that:

  • The manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope;
  • The abstract is concise and clearly summarizes the study;
  • Keywords accurately reflect the core themes of the paper;
  • References follow the STBR Harvard referencing style;
  • Tables and figures are properly formatted and labeled;
  • Ethical disclosures are included;
  • The manuscript is anonymized;
  • The language is professionally written and free of grammatical errors.

Careful preparation at this stage supports efficient editorial handling and reduces delays during the initial screening process.
